Autism is a spectrum, and every autistic individual has their own strengths, quirks, and unique way of navigating the world. While autism presents its challenges, it also brings humour, brilliance, and a refreshing honesty that makes life all the more interesting. So, let’s take a lighthearted look at ten different “faces” of autism — each with their own distinctive twist!

1. The Calculating Guy

Oliver, 16, does mental arithmetic faster than a calculator and can spot a prime number from a mile away. Unfortunately, he doesn’t often spot sarcasm. When his mum jokingly said, “Oh sure, Oliver, we’re having earthworms for dinner,” he immediately researched their nutritional value. Spoiler: They are technically edible. But let’s not.

2. The Picasso of Doodles

Imogen, 25, hates having a conversation without grabbing a pen and doodling all over the nearest surface. Her notebooks are filled with masterpieces, while her shopping list is lost somewhere between sketches of foxes and abstract landscapes. Last week, she forgot to buy tea…
